Sutil Companhia, directed by Ádia Anselmi and based in Curitiba (Brazil), investigates the intimate dimension of the body in movement and its materialization. Since 2017, it has established partnerships with different artists, received important awards and grants, and participated in national and international festivals and seasons.
Its research is grounded in the interaction between body, mind, and energy — the subtle body —, shared with the public through performances and workshops. The subtle body, understood as the driving force of movement, emerges from a state of vulnerability guided by feeling. Through sensitive listening, the work invites both artists and audience to experience states of presence that move between the surface and the depths of the moment.
______________________
"Challenging the tradition of a country where the arts so often emerge as deeply narrative, Sutil Companhia de Dança embraces, with sensitivity, the rigor of technique — bringing to the stage intense material, where the most eloquent discourse is inscribed in the dense physicality of movement, dynamics, textures, and atmospheres — all just as capable of narrating as more familiar, verbal languages".
